Autism Services

Easterseals programs across the country provide a wide variety of interventions that help individuals of all abilities, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Easterseals currently has a combination of services specifically targeting individuals with the diagnosis of ASD as well as other services that include individuals with ASD among their service recipients.

Overview

Autism Services Support People at All Life Stages

Easterseals provides early intervention, childcare, and structured therapies that help individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) thrive—building communication skills, self-advocacy, and meaningful connections. We work to first understand and listen to needs and goals, including all ways of communicating and moving through the world to create a customized plan that fosters lifelong success and personal autonomy.

Childcare & Early Intervention Programs Can Make a Big Difference

Easterseals emphasizes placing children of all physical, emotional, and academic needs in the same learning environment, which can benefit all children.

This approach to childcare and early intervention can foster successful development for young children. Trusted for more than 100 years, Easterseals’ expert educators and therapists offer quality care nationwide, helping children achieve cognitive, social, emotional, communicative, and physical milestones. When supporting children with autism, the earlier the intervention, the better.

Coordinated, structured services are provided by hundreds of Easterseals early intervention programs across the country to help preschool children with autism learn skills they’ll need for their development. Professionals at early intervention programs and day care centers can help parents decide which learning environment is best for their child.

Easterseals' experience shows that children with autism significantly benefit from receiving appropriate care alongside their peers. Children without disabilities benefit, too. They learn to understand and accept differences. What’s more, the experience replicates what children will find later in life.
