Employment Services

Employment Services assist individuals with a disability to obtain or maintain competitive integrated employment, consistent with the unique strengths, interests, and informed choice of the individual. Services designed for individuals to meet their vocational goal to be tailored to the individuals needs. Employment services include services provided both prior to and after job placement. 

Employment Services may include, but not limited to, activities such as:

  • Providing individual instruction on grooming punctuality, attendance, and other job readiness skills
  • Employment related responsibilities such as payroll deduction, insurance, retirement benefits, and workplace safety
  • Assisting individuals in locating potential employment and employers well suited to his or her employment goal
  • Assessing potential work environments and providing job site consultation

Job site services including job retention services, may include but are not limited to, activities such as:

  • Negotiating job accommodations with employers
  • Work site analysis and job site consultation
  • Jab carving
  • Development of natural supports
  • Learning new job tasks
  • Helping employers and co-workers understand the training methods and accommodations needed by the individual
  • Appropriate support services needed to promote continued job success
