Pre-Placement Training

Pre-Placement Training is formal, structured, interactive training that is instructed both through lecture and hands-on activity for a minimum of 20 hours. Pre-Placement Training is a short-term individualized service designed to develop or re-establish personal and social behaviors designed to enhance an individual's employability. It also prepares persons with significant sensory, cognitive or physical disabilities to navigate their environment and work site to enable the individual to meet their vocational goals. Training includes instruction, practical experiences and specific topics based on individual need.

Training may include but not limited to:

  • Appropriate workplace behaviors
  • Resume writing
  • Instruction on Interviewing Skills
  • Searching for and applying for jobs online
  • Finding and completing job applications
  • Manage Employer initial contracts
  • Navigating transportation
