Programs and resources available for parents of children with disabilities provides families with the necessary information, skills, and support to navigate the challenges of disability, empowering them to advocate for their child's needs and foster their development.

Overview

These programs offer access to information on a child's disability, training in effective parenting strategies, guidance on educational rights like IEPs, and a supportive community of other families and professionals.

  • FRC McAllen

    Family Resource Center

    The Family Resource Center serves as a hub of support for families that provides supportive services for those in need of assistance.
  • Easterseals  program coordinator going over safety tips with a father

    SafeCare

    The SafeCare program helps support parents with positive engagement, safety & their child's health. The program serves parents with children parental to 5 years of age living in Hidalgo County and supports parents in 3 topic areas focused on parent-infant and parent-child interaction, home safety, and child health.
